IGP Scholar Yuto Takada

Biography

Yuto Takada is a rising macro and industry economist with nearly a decade of experience at Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). He is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration (MPA) at Columbia SIPA, concentrating in International Finance and Economic Policy and International Security Policy, and serves as the President of the Japan Study Student Association.

During his tenure at METI, Yuto held pivotal roles, including serving as deputy director of the Policy Planning Division. In this capacity, he played a leading role in formulating Japan's growth strategy, with a focus on achieving carbon neutrality and strengthening economic security, while also managing a significant supplementary budget policy aimed at domestic manufacturing repatriation.

Building on his extensive expertise in macroeconomic trends and industry analysis, Yuto is passionate about developing innovative solutions to the structural challenges facing Japan and the global economy, ultimately contributing to sustainable development.
