Economic Statecraft Task Force

Economic Statecraft Task Force

About IGP’s Economic Statecraft Task Force

Led by Secretary Jacob J. Lew and Eddie Fishman, the Economic Statecraft Task Force is a collaborative partnership between IGP and Columbia SIPA’s Center on Global Energy Policy that convenes policymakers, academics, and private sector experts to analyze the tools of economic statecraft and the impact of their deployment.

IGP’s Economic Statecraft Task Force is a forum for examining how economic tools — from sanctions and technology controls to tariffs and industrial policy — are reshaping the international order and taking center stage in the US national security agenda. By drawing on lessons learned from the past two decades and assessing the current landscape shaping economic statecraft, the task force aims to identify and help bridge gaps in both research and understanding.
