Years in Review
Each year, IGP continues to grow its impact as a hub for collaboration among students, scholars, and practitioners. IGP’s Years in Review highlight the work accomplished throughout the academic year, including events featuring high-profile speakers, webinars sharing timely analysis of global news and conflict, and publications showcasing original scholarly research.
2025–26 Year in Review
The Institute of Global Politics (IGP) at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) marked a third year of sustained excellence across scholarship, research, and student engagement. We hosted 135 events, reached more than 300,000 people through our livestreamed events, and generated over 10 million social media impressions while launching new IGP Initiatives and Task Forces.
2024–25 Year in Review
The Institute of Global Politics (IGP) at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) marked an extraordinary second year of growth, engagement, and meaningful impact. We welcomed 15 Carnegie Distinguished Fellows, hosted more than 100 events, and brought together individuals from across the ideological and political spectrum. We advanced substantive policy work, reached hundreds of thousands of virtual participants, and deepened our engagement with students from across the university.
Inaugural Year in Review (2023–24)
Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) launched its much-anticipated Institute of Global Politics (IGP) in October 2023. In the months that followed, IGP brought people together across geographic and political divides, created a space for open dialogue across ideological differences, inspired new ideas, and worked to advance necessary conversations and build the foundation for policy impact work addressing some of today's most pressing challenges.
