Biography
Sonia Marton is passionate about women’s rights and generating equitable solutions through law, policy, and business. She graduated early from Pomona College with a double major in politics and French; while a student there, she held lead roles in a number of mainstage theater productions and internships at the Massachusetts State House, Senator Elizabeth Warren’s Washington and Boston Offices, and UN Women. Sonia has a range of experience in nonprofits, academia, and tech and is particularly engaged in working to elect women up and down the ballot. At Columbia, she jump-started Columbia Law School’s If/When/How chapter, inaugurated the role of vice president of gender policy and advocacy for the CLS Democrats, serves as a submissions editor on the Columbia Journal of Gender and Law, and works as a consultant for the Law School Democrats of America. Sonia is thrilled to be an inaugural student scholar with the Institute of Global Politics!
