IGP Scholar Shreya Shivakumar

Biography

Shreya Shivakumar is a Mary Catlett Hardy Scholar and senior at Barnard College studying political science. On campus, Shreya serves as editor-in-chief of the Columbia Undergraduate Law Review, vice president of the Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society, and chair of the Barnard Honor Board. She has served as a research assistant for Professor Erica Lonergan at Columbia SIPA and a Saltzman Student Scholar at the Saltzman Institute for War and Peace Studies. This past summer, she interned with the New York State Chief Cyber Officer where she worked to develop and implement state-level cybersecurity policy. Previously, Shreya interned at Proskauer Rose and the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. Shreya is interested in technology governance, artificial intelligence, and data privacy laws. Her hobbies include running, travel, and giving back through volunteer service with her anti-hunger nonprofit organization, Nourish America.
