Biography

Sharif Kazemi was born in Shiraz, Iran - a city famed for its poetry, gardens, and ancient history - and migration was the turning point of his life. Now attending SIPA as a British Fulbright scholar, Sharif specializes in Economic Development and Data Analytics. He seeks to understand how we can equitably expand economic and social opportunities across the globe, so that people are not forced to choose between home or a better life.

Sharif holds a first-class honors degree from the London School of Economics and came to SIPA from Cairneagle, Europe’s leading independent strategy house for the education sector. His other experiences include the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network and the Aga Khan Development Network. Leveraging education strategy experience, Sharif has supported SIPA’s Dean's Office as growth strategy advisor, Dean’s interim chief of staff, and IGP policy researcher. In the coming year, he’s looking forward to teaching seminars on Econometrics.
