Originally from Michigan, she is the daughter of Indian immigrants, who have inspired her to pursue a career in immigration and civil rights law. She is passionate about equitable public policy at the intersection of housing and education. On campus, Sarayu serves as the Columbia College Student Council Class of 2026 President.
