Biography

Patrick Fitz is a dual-degree student at Columbia SIPA and the Mailman School of Public Health. He volunteered with the Peace Corps in Cameroon from 2015 to 2018 and subsequently spent two years in international education in Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates. At SIPA, he completed the Workshop in Sustainable Development Practice with UN-Habitat Jordan. He has also completed internships with UNESCO and UNDP, as well as with the US Treasury Department and the Africa Center for Strategic Studies. In Summer 2023, Patrick conducted research in Uganda at the AfriChild Centre, Makerere University. For Fall 2023, he is a student volunteer with FEMA in New York City and remotely with the US State Department’s Bureau of International Organization Affairs. At SIPA, Patrick is editor-in-chief of the Journal of International Affairs, was general-secretary of the United Nations Association, and was a Randall International Fellow for 2021-2022. He holds a BA in economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
