Mikey Baratz

Mikey Baratz is a Master of International Affairs (MIA) candidate at Columbia SIPA, graduating in December of 2024. At SIPA, Mikey has pursued a concentration in International Security Policy and a specialization in International Conflict Resolution, conducting policy-relevant research at the US Institute of Peace. His research interests include the implications of climate change for geopolitics, US security posture toward Ukraine, and Israeli domestic politics. After graduating from SIPA, Mikey hopes to pursue a career at the US Department of State and apply a people-centered approach to policymaking and international diplomacy, one grounded in empathy and active listening. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in The Study of Science in Society from Wesleyan University and speaks Hebrew and Italian.
