
Michelle Ahn

Biography
Michelle Ahn is a second-year Master of Public Administration candidate at Columbia SIPA concentrating in Energy and Environment and specializing in Leadership, Innovation, and Design. She grew up in Potomac, Maryland, and studied political science at Villanova University. After graduating she worked for an economic development nonprofit in Philadelphia, for which she led research strategy about Philadelphia’s economic growth and labor market. In 2020, she joined the Biden campaign HQ team through the final push of the 2020 election. Most recently before coming to SIPA, she worked with Honolulu’s Office of Climate Change, Sustainability, and Resilience where she was a policy analyst advancing equitable energy and climate policy across Oʻahu. At SIPA she was elected to serve as president of the Columbia Energy Association, after serving first as the director of the Women in Energy program. In her free time she enjoys exploring Asian-American pastry shops, surfing, and exploring thoughtful urban architecture.
