Lizzy Yee

Lizzy Yee is a third-year at Barnard College, majoring in History with a thematic concentration in War and Revolution, and minoring in Political Science. As a New Zealand citizen raised in Hong Kong, she is passionate about examining how colonial legacies inform contemporary geopolitical dynamics. Her professional interests include peacebuilding, environmental politics, authoritarian governance, and sovereignty in cyberspace. She has previously freelanced as a producer and researcher for CNN, supporting international coverage of Russia's war in Ukraine and the Israel-Hamas war. She has also worked as a broadcast intern at NBC News TODAY. On campus, she writes and edits for the Columbia Political Review. At SIPA, Lizzy is a Saltzman student scholar and currently works as a student assistant in the Office of Communications and External Relations.
