
Deris Nagara

Biography
Deris Nagara is a Master of Public Administration student at Columbia University and a Graduate Summer Student at Stanford from Ciamis, Indonesia. In July 2023, Deris built his own education non-profit youth-led organization, “Darma Nagara Mandaya (DANAYA),” which directs its efforts towards fostering youth empowerment, facilitating human development, and advocating for the provision of education that has benefited more than 2000 Indonesian students. He serves as the President of the SIPA Students Association 2023 and the President of the ASEAN-Korea Frontier Forum Community 2023.
He has dedicated his life to implementing tangible initiatives that benefit local communities residing in remote areas for a decade since 2013 through Mojang Jajaka Ciamis and Generasi Berencana Jawa Barat. He received Inspiring Youth 2021 and The Great Youth 2022 prizes. He represented Indonesia in various multilateral youth fora to promote international exchanges on equality, equity, and human rights and how global and regional processes can foster sustainable development.
