IGP Scholar Anesu Masakura

Biography

Anesu Masakura is a Master of Public Affairs (MPA) in Development Practice candidate at Columbia SIPA. This fall, he is based at Columbia Law School, where he is deeply involved in a high-impact education consulting project with the Center for Public Research and Leadership.

A rising systems innovator with over three years of experience in community development, applied research, and public sector consulting, Anesu has raised millions of dollars and co-designed various initiatives to address complex challenges facing marginalized communities. Additionally, Anesu has provided critical research, design, and strategic planning support to government and public sector clients. Currently, Anesu is an intern at the Rockefeller Foundation, where he is contributing to their regenerative food systems strategy. Simultaneously, he serves as a research assistant at the Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment and leads the Digital Team at the Journal of International Affairs, SIPA’s flagship policy journal. 

A Zimbabwean native, Anesu holds a BA in Economics from Carleton College.
