Andrew Weaver

Andrew Weaver is a junior at Columbia College studying Political Science and Mandarin Chinese. His interests include China's foreign policy, elite politics, and military affairs. He has interned at the US Department of State with the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs, supporting the Quad team, as well as the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs, supporting a Regional China Officer. Weaver has also been a research assistant for Carnegie China and the Foreign Policy Research Institute's Asia Program. While working for the Department of Defense, Weaver composed analysis on Indo-Pacific security issues for the US Indo-Pacific Command, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Secretary of Defense, and National Security Council. Weaver is originally from Miami, FL, and plays blues guitar and banjo.
