Biography

Andrea Vidal Becker is a Master of International Affairs candidate and IGP Student Scholar at Columbia SIPA studying Human Rights and Humanitarian Policy. Before her time at Columbia, Andrea studied international relations at Boston University and spent four years working in refugee resettlement at the International Rescue Committee, where her innovative programming for asylum-seeking youth was awarded by global IRC leadership. Andrea also currently serves on the board of Urban Refuge, a nonprofit aid-mapping tool that she cofounded as an undergraduate. During the summer of 2023, Andrea served as a teaching assistant at Columbia Climate School, for which she was awarded the Earth Institute Sustainability Management Fellowship. Upon graduating from SIPA, Andrea hopes to pursue a career with UNHCR, where she can leverage her experience with humanitarian crises and policy research to expand her impact on a global scale.
