Columbia Law School, JD ’25

Biography
Amir Jones is a second-year student at Columbia Law School, where he is a staff member on the Journal of Law and Social Problems, vice-president of the Center for Voting Rights, and vice-president of the CLS Democrats. Inspired by his grandfather’s work at the Embassy of Indonesia in Washington, DC, Amir studied international affairs at George Mason University. He worked on political campaigns in Iowa, Texas, and New Jersey, and later joined Evergreen Strategy Group — a progressive strategic communications and policy firm. During his first year at Columbia Law, Amir helped launch Law School Democrats of America (LSDA) to bring law students into the work of advancing progressive electoral politics across the country. Amir hopes to leverage his legal education to address injustices “on the ground” while also contributing to fixing our democracy and its influence globally. Amir is from Northern Virginia and is a proud son of a multiracial, multifaith family.
