Public Health Experts Discuss Connection between Global Health and Geopolitics

On April 10, the Institute of Global Politics held a Rapid Response webinar titled “How Much is Global Health a Matter of Global Politics?” The discussion featured Dr. Wafaa El-Sadr, executive vice president of Columbia Global and Columbia University Professor of Epidemiology and Medicine; Dr. Jennifer Kates, senior vice president and director of global health & HIV policy at KFF; Dr. Michel Kazatchkine, former executive director of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and Inaugural IGP Carnegie Distinguished Fellow; and Apoorva MandavilliNew York Times science and global health reporter. The conversation was moderated by Hillary Rodham Clinton, Columbia SIPA professor of international and public affairs, 67th Secretary of State, former US senator from New York, and IGP Faculty Advisory Board chair.
