IGP Rapid, CGEP, and ILAS Examine Future for Venezuela and Energy Markets

On January 7, the Institute of Global Politics, Center for Global Energy Policy (CGEP), and the Institute of Latin American Studies (ILAS) hosted a Rapid Response webinar titled “Venezuela – What Happens Next?” The discussion featured Hon. Roy Altman, US District Judge for the Southern District of Florida and an IGP Carnegie Distinguished Fellow; Jon Finer, former Assistant to the President and Principal Deputy National Security Advisor, former IGP Carnegie Distinguished Fellow, and CGEP Distinguished Visiting Fellow; Avril Haines, former US Director of National Intelligence and IGP Carnegie Distinguished Fellow; Luisa Palacios SIPA ’95, CGEP Adjunct Senior Research Scholar and former Chairwoman of Citgo Petroleum Corporation; Roberto Patiño, Founder of Mi Convive and Alimenta La Solidaridad, Cofounder and President of Institute 2100, and former ILAS Visiting Scholar; and Mike Pompeo, 70th Secretary of State and IGP Carnegie Distinguished Fellow. The conversation was moderated by Sarah Daly, Associate Professor of Political Science at Columbia University and the author of Organized Violence after Civil War: The Geography of Recruitment in Latin America.
