Biography
The Honorable Henrietta Fore served as UNICEF’s executive director from 2018 to 2022, helping lead the world’s largest procurement and delivery of childhood and COVID vaccines as well as a global effort to connect every school and student to distance learning and the internet.
Before UNICEF, Fore served as chairman and CEO of Holsman International, a manufacturing and investment company; as administrator of USAID, where she was the first woman to lead the agency; as director of US foreign assistance and under secretary of state for management for the US Department of State; and as director of the US Mint.
She continues to work to champion economic development, education and health, nutrition, and water and energy infrastructure; to provide both humanitarian and disaster assistance; and to pursue long-term development for all nations.
In 2022, Fore joined the boards of Imperative Care, a biotechnology company focused on stroke care solutions; EQT Future, an impact-driven private capital fund; Global Preparedness Monitoring Board, an independent body for global health crises preparedness; the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), and several private companies in manufacturing and agriculture; and a growth impact fund.
Previously, Fore served on corporate boards and nonprofit boards including Asia Society, The Aspen Institute, Middle East Investment Initiative, and Women Corporate Directors.
