Anne Neuberger MIA ’05

Anne Neuberger is a general partner and head of global affairs at Andreessen Horowitz, bringing nearly 20 years of experience in government at the nexus of national security and technology. Her career spans the White House, the intelligence community, and the private sector, and has been defined by advancing innovation in defense and intelligence, shaping policy at the highest levels of government, and leading large-scale organizations through complex transformation.

As deputy national security advisor for cyber and emerging technology in the White House from 2021 to 2025, Neuberger led development of US policy on cyber offense and defense and emerging technologies, including quantum and advanced telecommunications, building coalitions across industry and allied nations. She worked with governments around the world to tackle cyber threats, forging groundbreaking international partnerships that included the 70-nation Counter Ransomware Initiative.

A veteran of the National Security Agency across three administrations, Neuberger has held senior leadership roles in intelligence and cybersecurity, led the NSA’s intelligence operations, founded its first Cybersecurity Directorate, and served as the agency's first chief risk officer.

Earlier in her career, she served as a White House fellow at the Department of Defense and as a private sector executive in financial services.
