Zahriah Sellers

Biography
Zahriah Sellers is a second-year MPA candidate at Columbia SIPA, concentrating in Urban and Social Policy.
Zahriah is driven by a commitment to advancing equity, strengthening democratic institutions, and ensuring that public policy reflects communities’ lived experiences. She has worked alongside communities and partners at the American Civil Liberties Union of Georgia, the Georgia Women’s Policy Institute, and the University of California, Berkeley, contributing to policy research, stakeholder engagement, and translating analysis into actionable policy recommendations.
At SIPA, Zahriah serves as vice president of the Black Student Union, where she is committed to fostering collaboration and dialogue among students from diverse backgrounds. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career in public policy, helping institutions design and implement equitable, data-informed policies that expand civic participation, strengthen public trust, and improve lives.
