Ryan Arick

Ryan Arick is an MIA candidate at Columbia SIPA with a concentration in International Security and Diplomacy. His work focuses on the intersection of transatlantic relations, defense innovation, and geopolitics.

Ryan currently serves as a nonresident fellow with the Atlantic Council's Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security, where he previously served as associate director of the Transatlantic Security Initiative and led projects focused on strengthening NATO’s defenses against evolving threats.

Earlier in his career, Ryan worked with the National Endowment for Democracy's International Forum for Democratic Studies and the National Democratic Institute's Central and Eastern Europe portfolio. He was also a Harold W. Rosenthal Fellow in International Relations and worked with the US Government Accountability Office's Defense Capabilities and Management division, analyzing personnel vetting reforms to strengthen US national security.

His research interests span transatlantic security and defense policy, geopolitics and risk analysis, and arms control and nonproliferation.
