Miya Segal

Miya Segal is a senior at Columbia University majoring in Political Science and Philosophy, with a special concentration in Business Management at Columbia Business School. Her research interests center on Middle East security, particularly the potential for normalization through security-based collaboration, the role of leaders’ political survival strategies in shaping national security policy, and paths toward a two-state solution. She currently serves as a policy research assistant at IGP, where she produces research on the Middle East. Miya also conducts research with Professor Erica Lonergan on cyber warfare doctrine at the Saltzman Institute, as well as research with Professor Charles Freilich on strategic US-Israel intelligence cooperation. On campus, Miya writes for the Columbia Political Review and is committed to fostering open dialogue through her work with the Listening Tables at the Trust Collaboratory. She previously interned at the United Nations, supporting Security Council research and speechwriting for senior diplomatic initiatives. Miya is also a Saltzman Student Scholar.
