Michael Weilandt

Biography

Michael Weilandt is a Dean's Distinguished Fellow and MIA candidate specializing in International Finance and Economic Policy with a focus on central banking.

 He works as a research associate at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), where he focuses on international capital flows, sovereign debt, balance of payments dynamics, and foreign exchange intervention under Senior Fellow Brad Setser. He has contributed to analyses cited by major publications including the Financial TimesWall Street Journal, and the New York Times, and he has coauthored numerous publications on global finance, international monetary policy, and Chinese external accounts.

Michael also works on macro research at Exante Data, analyzing global capital flows and currency dynamics to support discretionary investment strategies. He previously worked as a Research Analyst at Monument Economics Group, conducting quantitative economic analysis for complex antitrust and consumer fraud litigation.
