Megan Vidovich

Megan Vidovich is a second-year MIA candidate concentrating in Human Rights, Gender and Equity with a minor in Quantitative Analysis for Public Policy.

Previously, Megan interned at the United Nations Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict, where she engaged in research and advocacy for the needs of survivors of conflict-related sexual violence. In a previous internship at the Advocates for Human Rights, she researched global differences in domestic violence policy, which inspired her undergraduate thesis on innovative approaches to domestic violence policy to reduce recidivism and protect survivors. She is passionate about eradicating gender-based violence and forwarding the international agenda on Women, Peace and Security.

After her first year at SIPA, Megan spent the summer at the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Ethics and the Rule of Law as a research intern, focusing on protecting the right to vote in the face of exertions of federal law enforcement authority.

She is currently volunteering with MentorUkraine by Brave Generation, serving as a peer mentor to a Ukrainian student displaced by war. She also volunteers with the Foundation for a Healthier Senegal, a maternal and child healthcare nonprofit, to assist the Senegalese diaspora in New York City.

Megan is an editor at The Morningside Post, as well as the director of community outreach and coalition building for SIPA’s Gender Policy Working Group. After graduation, Megan plans to pursue a career developing gender-inclusive policy for the political, financial, and personal empowerment of women and girls.
