Jacob Drews

Jacob Drews is a senior at Columbia College majoring in Political Science. His academic interests include democratic institutions and political reform, political repression, US-China relations, and international conflict resolution. He is a Saltzman Student Scholar.

This past summer, he interned in Washington, DC for House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries. In his hometown of Oak Park, Illinois, he has organized efforts to expand local initiative and referendum rights.

He has previously worked as an assistant to former Illinois Governor Pat Quinn, an intern for Congressman Danny K. Davis, and an RA for Professor Elizabeth Saunders. He has also worked in Leader Jeffries’s New York office.

In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, reading biographies, going to movies, and trying new restaurants.
