Ethan Sheinker

Biography

Ethan Sheinker is a second-year MPA student at Columbia SIPA, concentrating in International Security Policy with a specialization in Technology, Media, and Communications.

Prior to arriving at SIPA, he held various roles related to national security, including education on multilateral diplomacy, developing red team simulation products, and serving as a defense analyst in the IDF’s general staff.

At SIPA, Ethan was a research assistant for Professor Tamar Mitts on projects measuring the impact of influence operations on democratic elections. He aims to explore how technological innovation is shaping the information environment, with a focus on countering the malicious use of generative AI by extremists and state actors.

Ethan graduated cum laude from Reichman University, receiving a BA in government, diplomacy, and strategy, and was a member of the Argov Fellows Program for Leadership and Diplomacy. 

In his free time, Ethan loves skiing, cycling, training in Jiu-Jitsu, and reading.
